lalalas.
woke up at 6am this morning and went to tampines mac for breakfast
with see hwee adeline yixi jojo wai hing and vannesa.
went to the mrt station at 8 to collect our tins.
so after collecting our tins and signing for it
we split up to get donations.
see hwee adeline and i went to bugis area to ask for donations.

this was basically the few lines i kept repeating today.
so we hung around the kwan yin temple and managed to get quite alot of donations.
i was really lucky.
an indian man dropped in
$50 dollars
into my tin!!!!!!!!
i was really surprised that he would donate so much.
actually the two women he was with did not want to donate when i approached them
but the man asked me what organisation it was for and the benefits.
Financial Assistance
This programme is meant to help those in dire need of assistance e.g. when the family is unable to settle their household expenses due to illness or death of the sole breadwinner.This is a short-term assistance plan to assist them during the period of financial difficulty to enable to pick up and get going in life
Food Relief
The Home’s Food Relief Programme has been going on for the last 40 years.Monthly rations of essential food items are given to the destitute aged who is on public assistance. The programme also assists deserving individuals and families.
Scholarships and Bursaries
For students with financial problems,given on an annual basis. Applicants come from all sections of the community.About $10, 000 is awarded to students from primary and secondary schools,and institutions of higher learning.
Home Help Service
Volunteers visit the homes of the elderly in the neighbourhood, to assist in household chores, like cleaning, repair and maintenance.
Free Legal Counselling
With the help of Volunteer Lawyers, free legal counseling has been set up to aid the families out of legal conflicts.Operating on every last Tuesdays of the month, this service aims to guide people with the process and knowledge of legal protocols and the methods of seeking legal help.
Family Counseling
This service is for families facing with marital problems. Operating on every last Tuesdays of the month is handled by qualified counselors.
Day Care Centre
The Day Care is the latest addition of SNMH. Located in the Homes building, this service aims to provide rehabilitative care for the elderly to enable to restore and improve their physical health. Elderly, who may have suffered from stroke, had a fall or other incapacitating ailments of old age will find the Day Care a useful option to rehabilitate themselves and also continue to live with their loved ones. Social support and Mental stimulation are included as part of activities of the Day Care.
Meranti Home
Sree Narayana Mission manages Meranti Home @ Pelangi Village. This is one of the six units at the Social Welfare complex under the Ministry of Community Development and Sports. This Home can accommodate 200 mentally burnt-out male patients.

oh here is a really funny part.
i was holding hui zhen's tin because she was helping me to strap the cap on to my bag
and wilson just sort of came over and
put some coins into the tin i was holding
which was hui zhen's
and the girls had a good laugh over it.
later he kena sabo-ed by the girls saying why he never give them
so yea.
he ended up giving all the girls some coins.
smart aleck.
haha.
super hilarious actually.
but still.
we saw the ugly and good side of singaporeans today
which reminded me of the oral topic of facing the reality world when we grow up.
so yea.
it gave me an insight and something to think about over this weekend.
hopefully you guys will have your own thoughts too.
although many people may feel flag day is a chore and totally not fun
but this is my second time and i kinda like it.
of course you will meet a lot of different kind of people
so it is always good to maintain a postive attitude.
