it just struck me today.
i realised that we really are lucky that singapore is multi-racial.
today is hari raya for the malays and its so cool that when you send pple festive greetings they reply to you.
also, today i saw a malay family at the carpark. the little girl accidentally stepped on some joss-sticks on the ground. the mother actually quickly pulled the girl away and said ''sorry sorry excuse me.''
it just shows that singapore's culture is that our different races actually care about each other. well.
thats just what struck me.

It is only the first week of school for the second semester and already i have things to blog about.
Many teachers made this semester sound crazy. They were like ''If you are able to survive this term, you can survive through O levels.'' Like that is encouraging to us. Oh well. It is just really creepy when you think about it that half of the year has passed and in another 3 months? I will be taking my Os. Wow. The first week has just ended and already 3 out of 7 subjects has announced that there will be test every week. Maths and Physics have a spot on the noticeboard for the test schedules. Talk about kiasu. Oh and with the D&T teachers rushing us like mad and every subject asking for our full 100% or more its equivalent to 700% minimum. How can ONE human being which is maybe about 100% be able to cope and give more than 700%?? Thats why i really respect those people who study hard and can get good results. Envisioning myself going up on stage next year? That shall be my goal.

Sometimes i feel friends are important and we may be different on the outside but what counts is the inside right? This may feel very cliche but ultimately it is the character that matters. We are all unique. Why do you have to make a person feel so ostracised just because the person's physical features is not up to a standard? Why do you even have a standard? Do you think people choose to be like that? Do you think they have a choice? We are born this way and I am very happy with my own body. You know why?? Because i am grateful to have a body with no diseases and no missing parts. If you have flabby arms, be glad because at least you have arms to write and do things with. If you have fat or short legs, be glad because at least you can run,jump and walk and need not use a wheelchair or crutches to move around. We should just appreciate ourselves for who we are. And for the others who may not be so fortunate as us,we should sympathise them and help them in some ways. I think that the most important is to be sensitive to other people's feelings. We should always spare a thought for the person before we open our mouth to comment. I think that if everyone just let their thoughts go to their head before it comes out of the mouth, the world will be a much better place to live in.
And please, never never NEVER comment on people when you are right in front of them. The feeling of being criticised, the queasiness of the stomach and our self esteem will dive all the way down. Nobody should ever feel that way. I hope that we can still be friends.

seriously. got stuck at one point but was whizzing through the enitre course. ultimate fun. indeed their motto was ''once is never enough''.
SO wanted to just pay and go again.
extremely tempted but we went to siloso beach.
after much persuading by hing, we played arnd in the beach.
haha. took retarded photos, jumpshots and got elbowed in the head by jojo. haha
but kept laughing at everything.
and saff was so kind to take photos for us. while we did stupid stuff. haah.

and the funniest was when saff was so enthu about going into tunnels at fort siloso and hing was there feeling very afraid. LOLS! run around the whole place like nobody's business.

and i sat with saff for the skyride cos the other two were very afraid and we bought a photo of us on the skyride!!
we just totally prepared ourselves for the photo and SNAP!
haha.
we look too good and the scenery and the sunlight was just perfect. couldnt resist. haha.

oh there saff is totally jealous of us. okok i better stop rubbing it in.
haha.
and we saw many peacocks!! abt 7 in total for the day.
so cool.
but not one opened up their feathers.
oh well.
haha.

i guess everyone's life will have their fair share of ups and downs.
its difficult to accept the realities of downs because it is only human to want the best for ourselves and we want our lives to be full of happy things.

things as small as not doing well in exams and bigger scale stuff like death are the unhappy but real things that we as humans need to face. in these 16 years of my life, i have been protected from the reality of the harsh world.
but i guess now as we all grow up and realise that the world is such, we must face it.
feeling depressed over my horrible results will not make any changes.
its already done so, so be it.
i cant change the marks or anything.
the only thing that i can do is to make sure i will not make those same mistakes again.
because where i fall shall be where i rise again.
nobody said life was going to be easy., noone said that the road would be smooth-sailing.
but we just have to face it.
i dun expect the world to be made easy for me.
early man was able to survive without technology and proceed on with inventions,
then why should'nt i as a 21st century student carry on with MY life, MY dreams and MY goals??
the 'O' levels may seem far away, but it really isn't.
the amount of work we have to put in into the next 3 months will be extremely gruelling.
but i hope that it will all be worth it when the results is announced next year in january.

nevertheless people we must strive on.
but dun forget the littlest and smallest things in life that can make us happy because all these things may seem so insignificant to us now but we will look back upon it one day and we appreciate it.
well.

CHOIR GOT SILVER FOR SYF 2009!!!!
yes people we got it back and im extremely happy. ecstastic to be exact.
overjoyed lalalalas.
haha.
wanna thank everyone in the choir. you guys put in great effort.
of course we must not forget the teachers as well who put in much effort as well.
and also MS ONG!!!
couldnt have done it without her. no way.
the two choice pieces were really good.
thank her profusely.
haha.
but im glad because now i have two SYFs in my memory that will last forever.
its kinda special because 07 syf was a SATB choir and the costume was a gown.
and now 09 syf is a SSA choir and we had a change of costumes. so now its a two piece.
felt its worth it.
im so gonna come back to support the next batch of SYF team.
yes i will.
hopefully ms ong would have groomed them to be a gold choir.
come on crestvoices. get a gold yea!
now its coming to the end of april.
OH NO!!!!
mid years are starting this thursday alrd.

POLY STUDENTS WANT FAIRER TRANSPORT FARES

it is in the news that this national petition was set up by poly students because they feel that poly students are paying way too much more than JC students.

no offence to JC students of course.

check this out.

For polytechnic students, they are as follows:
Bus Concession Pass - $52/month, unlimited bus concession travel on basic fare bus services for one month.
Train Concession Pass - $45/month, up to 4 rides per day on the MRT/LRT for one month.
Hybrid Concession Pass - $97/month, unlimited bus concession travel on basic fare bus services for one month and up to 4 rides per day on the MRT/LRT for one month.

“This is in sharp contrast to the amount junior college (JC) students and students from the Institutes of Technical Education (ITE) are paying to purchase the same concession passes under the same terms of use,” says the group.
For JC and ITE students, the same concession passes cost $27.50, $25 & $52.50 respectively.

“The percentage difference in prices ranges from 80 per cent to 89 per cent,” they say. And therein lies the unhappiness for the polytechnic students - the issue of fairness between different groups of students.

if you read the newspapers recently it stated that the number of ''O'' levels students are actually opting for polytechnics instead of JC. with this increasing number, wouldnt more students have to pay more JUST to go to school?? think how much you could have spent on transport ALONE

when you probably could have put that amount of money to better use for studies eg. getting textbooks, or saving for the essential laptop every poly student needs!!

based on the above website mentioned, this petition is targetted to have 30,000-100,000 signatures.

and im so lucky cos my batch got to eat swensens last year while this year sec 4 had their dining experience in the sch canteen while the teachers and trainers try to create that kind of dining experience atmostphere.
count myself lucky i guess.

i just feel different.
sometimes i feel that i dun really know my thoughts anymore.
i really miss my childhood when i just make decision about what colour i want to wear or what kind of shoes i want to wear.
but it seems different now.
i used to think i cant wait to grow up.
but now it seems i just want to go back to being a kid.
well who doesnt?
teenagers cant wait to go to out to the working life while adults regretted missing their teenage years want to go back to studying.
its rather contradicting this world.
which sometimes makes it hard to understand.
and i guess that a person changing due to the world is inevitable but i still hold to the belief that staying true to oneself is the best.
how time flies and soon its gonna be the end of january.
february rolls along with its valentine's day big whoo-ha and then march marches along.
and that would be 1/3 of the year gone.
with the big national exams in october. by the time i reach march i only have 7 months to revise and really know my work.
on top of last year topics and this year topics with revision and practical assessment for science AND design and technology folio to be done.
its gonna be another flying year past me.
press on eliz because it will all be over.
this is only the start.
because when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

really unexpected.

nth much to update abt except yes i have been working.
and on christmas work in the morning and went to orchid country club in yishun to stay for a couple of days with my mum's friend and her grandnephew.

yep thats the one.
spent time with him and the place is so cool.
there is an orchid bowl there and luckily there is nebo prices there as well.
so happy little me bowled four games and i even broke my own record again.

went back for choir for some practices.
managed to catch up for songs such as how high the moon, stopping by woods,strike it up tabor,vere langoures.
really interesting songs.
and of course the sopranos 1 always make use of stagger breathing which is to make it seem as if we dint breathe but we actually take turns to breathe discreetly!!
its not cheating its an art!

work has been pretty intense.
new rules,new terms are all up.
and of course the christmas decorations are up and yes we have to wear those santa hats.

how time flies.
i realised that the end of the year always seems to by pass much faster than the start of the year..

well.
now grad night is all said and done.
the next thing that is gonna happen in sch would be the results for N levels.
aye.
another big issue.
and then O levels would be another big whooha..
went back for the first choir practice for the holidays.
like seriously training.
whew.
lost some of my stamina and the voice a little rusty..

and then there is the batam trip on 7 december..
after that next year my schedule would be super hectic!
with piano exam coming up in march or april, SYF around that time as well..
oh yea the choir is getting new costumes.. this time with shoes as well.

hello my dearest dear bloggie.
today was the second day of bridging.
yesterday even the teachers knew we will not bring anything so they did not teach also.
except mr choo.
the super enthu one.
haha.
started work awhile back.
almost a week back i guess?
lucky i went for interview quickly.
these few days when i was working so many people came to fill up application forms.
but also must blame the big signboard outside our outlet which no wonder makes people go in.
haha.
my job let's see.
learnt a lot in a very short amount of time.
like its kinda on-the-job learning kinda thing?
so have to adapt to the fast pace of the job.
like DUH!
its not called fast food for nothing.
haha.
but it is my first ever job.
so yup.
the people are really fun.
yesterday the managers of the different outlets came to our outlet for meeting
so we had to serve.
i forgot to repeat order..
so irritating.
then the managers go disturb me.
ask which burger is what and which one is sea chicken..
so bad siia they all.

then because i keep apologising they laugh at me.
then they asked if riona and i were sisters.
said we looked alike.

so today after bridging went to gelare with rebec,vann and swee min.

2)but im also a little sad because it would mean that a new year is starting soon and i would have to wait another year to grow older but it would also mean doing stuff all over again.

that i actually managed to learn how to cycle in one day.

but im really grateful because many people tried to teach me last time but it was unsuccessful.

like duh!! if not i would have known how to ride a bike alrd right?

i am really spending more and more time at my ''third home''
as i like to call it.

the happy wall-e!! (:
the emotional wall-e.
the scared wall-e.
super cute.
finally went to watch wall-e today.
starting was like soundless movie.
but it really brought out what the producers were trying to do of telling and revealing the life of wall-e throught his actions.
it was extremely touching when wall-e when through a lot just to get his friend eva back and the strong friendship is really shown here.
enjoyed it immensely with wall-e being naturally cute and trying to get the attention of eva.
kudos to the producers for using a binoculars as the eyes and just by tilting it a little it can convey different types of emotions that wall-e is feeling.
brillant idea.
and there was this kid beside rebecca who was saying ''oh changi airport!''

i realise that i haven't updated about the movie with shan and ros.

well.

shan is like freaking tall.

think he is like one and a half of me.

can yuou imagine it?

gosh he really was outstanding.

which made it easy for us to identify them.

the movie was cool and interesting.

but it ensured me of one virtue of the citizens of china.

its that they are realy filial ot their parents.

the show kept emphasizing about how the children should repay their parents by learning english.

it showed the determination of these children and as i watched these kids have tears rolling down their cheecks because they feel that they have done little to repay their parents is really heartwarming and sad.

sometimes i think singaporeans kids may not have such filial piety in them.

but there is still a minority i guess.

so yesterday was the choir's performance at the singapore conference hall.

went with them.

cheat my feelings.

it wasnt in the hall exactly.

just mainly in the building.

haha.

oh and they have a choir tee!

looks alright to me.

and is is made of dri-fit material.

which is my fav!

that's why i like to wear my OBS tee and class tee.

thinking again if i should go to the batam trip at the end of this year.

just came back from piano lesson.

this morning was nearly caught by mr azhar for jay-walking.
because when i crossed i dint see him untilafter i crossed.
so the minute i saw him i detour to the canteen.
i could feel that he was looking at me.
so irritating.
ended up he walked towards the side gate.

but i think if a group of people jay-walked he would catch.
luckily i was alone.

anyway this morning i was caught totally off guard.
mr ng announced that the sec 4s were taking cohort photo today.

and the weirdest thing was this morning my hair was so out of sorts but i just wanted to spend more time on it.

HAPPY 43RD BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!
oh yea.
singapore is growing up.
haha. yesterday had half day at school and let just say that
it was THE BEST NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION so far!!!!
seriously cool!!!!
starting was a little weird.
like the march in and all that.
then mr ng read the ''recollections''
and maybe he was nervous because when he made mistakes the school corrected him together.
really funny.
and the national anthem was the loudest possible volume yesterday. bet the surrounding blocks could hear.
and we were holding hands.
really weird feeling.

concert next!!!!
starting was videos and stuff.
then TALENT QUEST!!!
must comment on aisyah and her friend because they wrote a song and sang it.
really good.
this year talent quest was quite varied.
but enjoyable.
the highest point came when singing communtiy songs.
that realy got the whole sch going nuts.
we started to stand up and start singing.
oh my goodness.
really as if there was a concert going on.

FINALLY managed to watch hancock yesterday.

the oh-so-hot will smith.

watched at marina square GV.

then because bought tickets for the show was like 3hrs later

so my ''tour guide'' sort of brought me arnd.

basically yesterady i felt like a tourist.

let's see.

went to esplanade,the merlion,the japanese memorial tower,suntec city,

and it ended with singapore flyer because i went there for dinner.

and i ate POPEYES!!

was really tired on the train ride back.

finally went bowling today.

but this time when i polished i did it too hard and the plastic melted.

so i had to change the rather futuristic look of the handle

to something not-so-futuristic.

today was the first day of school for semester 2.

and as everyone knows, term 3 and term 4 literally FLY!

and i mean it.

thought first day of sch would be okae.

yea the teachers were colelcting homework and stuff

just realised that sch prep exams is in 2 weeks.

dun feel like blogging too much today.
just wanna say that i empathise with the china earthquakes victims and the myammar cyclone incident.
i really feel very sorry for them.
in china many kids were killed. and also many kids' parents were killed leaving them to be orphans.
also just heard from the news that cracks are appearing in a hundred over dams in china.
i really fear for the people's lives.
the death toll has already reached over 12,000 and 14,000 or more and still unfound or buried.
it is really a sad thing.
that this should happen to a country not far from us.
fortunately,singapore sent aid over already and many organisations are collecting donations and funds to give to the china victims.
some of them do not even have food and water and shelter.
please give to any organisation that helps these victims.
it would really go a long way.
the myammar incident as well.
happened on the day of the geog paper.
really sad.
took away many people's lives.
fortunately as well singapore has sent aid over to myammar already.
really hope they will be able to recover from this crisis.
talk about karma.
its like some people believed it was suppose to happen to them?
myammar is because i cant really rmb but it seems that some pple think it was suppose to happen?

okae. at first we saw that the lounge was empty.

wait the ''we'' refers to my mum and i.

okae. so asked the counter staff if we can use the lounge

because the seats are like so much more comfortable than the seats outside?

anyway we had to repeat the same qns 4 times with the last time asking the manager.

the manager was so straightforward and said sure.

just order your food first and take a seat.

so we went to order food.

then the waited behind the counter asked for our table number.

we werelike HUH???

because the manager told us to order food first.

so retarded..

then we said we wanna seat at the lounge.

then after asking the manager AGAIN they moved back the barrier blocking the lounge

to the first table.

which is limiting us to only sit at the first table..

back to school after the long break of 4 days.
felt a little different when i went back to school today..
jsut had this feeling.
haha.
erms.
got back majority of mid-year papers
left chemistry,geography and english paper 1.
i think.
really shocked for design and technology paper.
because i thought it was really difficult.
and surprise!!
i actually got 73.5 for my d&t paper!!!!
like super happy.
cos it was the last paper and really not much energy left
so tried my best to study with chem also.
so hoping chemistry paper will be okae.
shocked also for english paper 2.
got 60/80 for that. so have to see how paper one does.
maths paper 1 was expected i guess. 45/80
but luckily paper 2 kinda pulled me up. 50/60
so yea. im satisfied.
chinese was a little disappointing?
but mdm tan sae this time she was more strict with her marking?
oh what the heck.
will post when i get al the results back i guess.
just dun think that im boasting or smth.

went to the beach today after school with rebecca.
felt really relaxing and never really tried this before.
we just sat at those breakwaters and enjoyed the wind.
really relaxing. and we just talked and talked.

today went to Ehub at downtown east with friends. woke up about 10am. den shaun called and asked wanna go bowling. haha. why not?

so met them at 12 and started bowling. cool siia. saw super alot of people. even the very familiar mr singh,mr ling and mr paul ng at ehub. haha. apparently they were patroling around. haha.

and alot of pple i saw was wearing sch uniform. haha. so started bowling and it was really fun! went yesterday with wai hing and brenda but i dint bowl much. today bowled 2 games! really happy!!

after that more pple started to come. so ended up 8 pple played the second game. managed to strike one time i think. and a few spares. but the guys quite pro siia. first game my score the lowest. then second game at least not at the bottom. haha!

after that, a lot of pple left. so went to find smth to eat. ended up at mr chicken rice. haha. had porridge cos had a very full breakfast. so after that wanted to catch a movie but the timings were unsuitable and dint get to watch. WASTED!!!

so anyway after that went to rebecca hse. actually i went to white sands to top up my ezlink card first. practiced piano awhile because past few days i dint practice and i had lesson after that.

while on my way to lesson i saw my previous piano teacher but she left before i took my grade 6 and she helped me a lot! so gave her the good news of my results. haha. still very happy with my distinction. haha. (:
